Carters Beach is a north facing fine sand beach that is safe to swim at, with a gentle surf perfect for learning to surf and boogie boarding. Evening sunsets are spectacular - no two nights are the same. Husband and wife team, Tracy and Mark are the owners of Carters Beach Seaside Accommodation. We are also dog friendly - This allows guests that travel with a dog to stay in either of our rooms - for a extra fee of $25 You may or may not meet us as our rooms are non hosted with their own private entrances. About Our Accommodation....
Relax in one of our delightful holiday apartments, right beside the endless sandy beach of beautiful Carters Beach, 6km South of Westport. We have 2 non hosted apartments, each with a very different boutique style.. One called the "Beach View" the other, "The Bach". Situated directly opposite the beach and the new Kawatiri cycleway, you can make your time here as relaxing or active as you like. There is a great restaurant and bar just 100m down the road. We are located just 6km from the Westport township which has 2 supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants, cafes and takeaway options. |
About The South Island West Coast
The coast is very scenic, with long wild coastlines on one side and spectacular mountains on the other. Ancient trees set amongst native temperate rain forest. A variable "Garden of Eden" Just a short 10 minute drive will take you to the Cape Foulwind walking track (Dog Friendly). Walking this track for 30 minutes or so will take you to a Seal colony and the infamous surf beach at Tauranga Bay. Easy day trips in the area include Punakaiki Rocks, Oparara Arches, and the Denniston Plateau. Carters Beach is located within easy reach to the start of tramping / mountain bike tracks, including the Paparoa Track, Heaphy Track and The Old Ghost Road As for Westport itself, this town of just 5000 people has lovely retail shopping, a movie theatre, an excellent historical museum and informative I-Site.
